Efficiently moving energy from the field to the market is critical for meeting global demand. Oxy both builds its own midstream infrastructure and contracts with third parties to deliver that energy. As with everything we do, our midstream infrastructure is a key contributor to our net-zero goals.
Our midstream, marketing and power groups keep the Oxy organization connected, streamlined and performing. We proactively inspect, maintain and upgrade our gathering, compression and processing systems, including the world-class CO2 recovery infrastructure that drives our enhanced oil recovery (EOR) operations and safely sequesters CO2 deep underground.
Putting CO2 in a better place.
Oxy operates large-scale processing and pipeline assets that facilitate our CO2 emissions reduction strategy. Our infrastructure includes 13 CO2 recovery plants, 2,500 miles of CO2 pipeline access and 6,000+ CO2 injection wells, across 34 CO2 EOR projects in the Permian Basin. Goldsmith: Powering our field operations with solar to reduce carbon intensity
In 2019, Oxy completed construction of its Goldsmith Solar Plant: a 16 MW photovoltaic solar field with the distinction of being Texas’ first large-scale solar facility powering oil and gas operations. Today the 174,000-panel solar farm directly powers our EOR operations in the Goldsmith, Texas area and reduces indirect energy use GHG emissions (Scope 2) in our operations by reducing the need for consumption of grid power.

Oxy actively markets our natural gas, NGLs and crude oil produced in the United States, the Middle East and North Africa to domestic and global customers. Our seasoned marketing professionals are empowered by the most advanced trading technologies and backed by the financial strength of a global energy leader. We deliver reliable transactions executed by regional experts who get results.
In addition to marketing Oxy’s equity crude oil produced in the U.S., our marketing team leverages its regional expertise to purchase non-equity crude oil to maximize the value of downstream pipeline and export terminal commitments.
