Jody Elliott is President of Occidental Oil and Gas Corporation – Domestic, a subsidiary of Occidental Petroleum. In this role, Mr. Elliott leads Occidental’s U.S. oil and gas business with responsibility for the company’s Permian Basin EOR and Permian Resources business units, including outside-operated domestic assets. He also oversees companywide data management and analytics and the regulatory and land functions for the company’s domestic operations.

Mr. Elliott has more than 35 years of industry experience. Previously, he was President and General Manager for Permian Resources – Midland Basin. He also served as Well Construction Manager in Permian Resources, responsible for the execution and development of unconventional drilling and completion operations and technology. As Operations Manager for the South Texas Business Unit, he oversaw integration of the operations, technology and back office support from the previous operator. He was also Director of the Automation Technology Group, responsible for operations and IT automation standardization strategy and systems deployment across the company. During this assignment, he led a global single-instance Enterprise Reporting System project (OneOxy) and a global Operations work process and systems standardization effort (PSP – Production Standardization Project). These transformational projects drove organizational efficiencies and cost reductions across the enterprise.

Mr. Elliott joined Occidental in 2000 with the acquisition of Altura Energy. Prior to joining Occidental, Mr. Elliott was Asset Manager, North Operations, and Manager of Operations Support (including Land and IT) for Altura Energy, a Shell-Amoco joint venture spin-off of the Permian Basin. He was a member of the Altura Energy design, transition and start-up team, later the Project Lead for the company sale effort, and then responsible for the integration efforts with the Occidental acquisition team. Mr. Elliott also served in various management, engineering and drilling roles for Shell Oil in the Permian Basin, South Texas, California and Michigan, including development assignments in Drilling Research, Drilling Corporate Planning and Human Resources.

Mr. Elliott holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University.
