As of year-end 2010, Oxy has approximately 11,000 employees worldwide, including 7,100 in the United States. Approximately 6,900 people are employed in Oxy’s oil and gas and midstream and marketing operations; 3,000 in our chemical operations; and 1,100 in administrative and headquarters functions. Approximately 900 U.S.-based employees and 300 foreign-based employees are represented by labor unions.

Our U.S. employees average 15 years’ experience with the company. The U.S. employees who retired in 2010 did so at an average age of 61 and with an average of 32 years of service at Oxy. This strong retention rate is an indicator of our employees’ long-term satisfaction.
