sustained excellence award

The American Chemistry Council (ACC), of which OxyChem is an active member, strives for improved industry performance in safety, security and environmental performance with a vision of no accidents, injuries or harm to the environment.

As part of its Responsible Care© program, the ACC presents the Sustained Excellence Award to acknowledge companies which achieve excellence in the workplace. Recipients are evaluated using quantitative and qualitative measures, and to be eligible a company must demonstrate an excellent safety record, a positive trend in other performance metrics, and, under the current format, completion of management system certification and security verifications over a three-year period. This award is the most prestigious given under ACC’s Responsible Care initiative.

OxyChem has earned the Sustained Excellence Award four times since the award's inception in 1997, most recently for its performance in 2006.
