Colombia
One of the leading international oil companies in Latin America, Oxy has been an active investor in Colombia for more than four decades. Oxy is the operator under four contracts within the Llanos Norte Basin, including the giant Caño Limón field – whose 25th anniversary was celebrated in 2008. Oxy also is a partner in an enhanced oil recovery project in the Middle-Magdalena Basin at La Cira-Infantas field in Santander province. In 2008, Oxy was a finalist for the U.S. Secretary of State’s Award for Corporate Excellence in recognition for its social responsibility initiatives in Colombia.
