Overview

Oxy's Midstream, Marketing and Other segment gathers, processes, transports, stores and markets crude oil, natural gas, natural gas liquids and carbon dioxide (CO2). The segment serves Oxy's global oil and gas operations such as assets across the Permian Basin of southwest Texas and southeast New Mexico to markets in Cushing, Oklahoma, as well as power generation facilities in Texas, Louisiana and California. It also includes Oxy's 24.5-percent equity interest in the Dolphin Pipeline Project.

The Midstream, Marketing and Other segment comprises the following businesses:

  • CO2 Source Fields and Facilities – Oxy is the world's largest user of CO2 injection for enhanced oil recovery, a technique used to increase production from mature wells. CO2 is processed and transported for use in Oxy's enhanced oil recovery program.
  • Gas Processing Plants – Oxy's U.S. wet gas production and third-party production is processed through 15 gas plants, including 13 in the Permian Basin of southwest Texas and southeast New Mexico, to extract natural gas liquids from the wet gas stream.
  • Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) – Oxy's LNG entity includes the proposed Ingleside Energy Center (IEC) in Texas and the San Patricio Pipeline which are under development to deliver to interstate and intrastate pipelines that serve markets in the U.S. and Mexico.
  • Marketing – Oxy Energy Marketing, Inc. (OEMI), markets Oxy's equity production and engages in third-party transactions.
  • Pipelines – Oxy operates pipelines in the U.S. and holds interests in a pipeline in the Middle East. In the Permian Basin, Oxy owns Centurion Pipeline, an oil-gathering, common-carrier pipeline and storage system with approximately 2,750 miles of pipeline and storage capacity of 5 million barrels. In the Middle East, Oxy has a 24.5-percent equity interest in the Dolphin Pipeline Project.
  • Power Generation – Oxy owns two cogeneration plants, one in Texas and one in Louisiana, and an equity investment in a gas-fired power plant at Elk Hills, California. Collectively, the three plants have the capacity to produce 1,768 megawatts of electricity per hour.
