Power Generation

Midstream and marketing operations are conducted at facilities in the United States with over 1,200 megawatts of electricity in Texas and Louisiana. The Midstream and Marketing assets include Occidental's Ingleside Cogeneration Limited Partnership (ICLP) near Ingleside, Texas, and Taft Cogeneration located near Hahnville, Louisiana. These facilities are highly efficient combined cycle cogeneration plants that provide steam and electricity to adjacent Occidental facilities and have the capability to sell excess electricity into local markets.

  • ICLP is a natural-gas-fired cogeneration power plant with the capacity to produce approximately 450 MW of electricity. The facility provides all of the electricity and steam for Occidental’s adjacent Ingleside chemical complex.

  • The Taft Cogeneration facility is a natural-gas-fired cogeneration power plant with the capacity to produce approximately 800 MW of electricity. The facility provides all of the electricity and steam for Occidental’s adjacent Taft chemical complex.
