Oxy and consortium partners Eni and Korea Gas Corporation, with Iraq’s state-owned South Oil Company and Missan Oil Company as state partner, are redeveloping the giant Zubair Field in southern Iraq.
One of the largest discovered oilfields in the world, Zubair is expected to bring Oxy net production of 65,000 to 75,000 BOEPD by 2014, as well as reserve additions.
In December 2010, the consortium partners announced that they had achieved and sustained a 10-percent increase in oil production at the Zubair Field, a key production milestone under the contract.
