Oxy's presence in Latin America comprises operations in Colombia and Bolivia. In Colombia, the company has operations at five oilfields including Caño Limón, a 1983 Oxy discovery that enabled Colombia to become an oil exporter after years as a net importer. At La Cira-Infantas Field, Oxy is applying enhanced oil recovery techniques to maximize production. Oxy’s working interests in Bolivia are located in the Tarija, Chuquisaca and Santa Cruz regions in the southern and eastern areas of the country. In December 2010, Oxy announced an agreement to sell its Argentine oil and gas operations. The transaction was completed at the end of the first quarter of 2011.
