Power Generation

Oxy's Midstream and Marketing segment has generation assets in the U.S. with operating capacity to produce approximately 2,000 megawatts of electricity. The assets include Oxy’s Ingleside Cogeneration Limited Partnership (ICLP) near Ingleside, Texas; Taft Cogeneration located near Hahnville, Louisiana; and Elk Hills Power (EHP) near Tupman, California. These three facilities are highly efficient combined cycle cogeneration plants that provide steam and electricity to adjacent Oxy facilities and have the capability to sell excess electricity into local markets.

  • ICLP is a natural-gas-fired cogeneration power plant with the capacity to produce approximately 440 MW of electricity. The facility provides all of the electricity and steam for Oxy’s adjacent Ingleside chemical complex.

  • The Taft Cogeneration facility is a natural-gas-fired cogeneration power plant with the capacity to produce approximately 800 MW of electricity. The facility provides all of the electricity and steam for Oxy’s adjacent Taft chemical complex.

  • EHP is a natural-gas-fired cogeneration power plant with the capacity to produce approximately 550 MW of electricity. The facility, located within Oxy’s Elk Hills Field, provides electricity and steam for the field.
