The Horn Mountain field
produces from the deepest free-floating spar in the Gulf of Mexico,
located about 100 miles southeast of New Orleans. The field has
high-quality reserves and efficient operations that are yielding
high-margin production.
Occidental holds a 33-percent
interest in the field, which is operated by BP. An integrated development
team comprised of BP and Occidental engineers utilized the strengths
of both companies to deliver the successful Horn Mountain project
on time and on budget.
Oxy's 2006 production at Horn Mountain averaged 13,000 BOE per day.
