Omanization is the vision of Sultan
Qaboos bin Said, who since 1970, has successfully led the country
through a period of economic expansion has made national
education a priority and is intent on generating job opportunities
for Oman's young high school and college graduates.
Oxy Oman is committed to achieving the highest qualitative Omanization
targets in accordance with the aspirations of the Government of Oman
by attracting and retaining a highly qualified Omani workforce.

To fill technical positions, Oxy recruits employees from all of
Oman with priority given to qualified applicants from towns near
its areas of operations. Oxy Oman offers a job training program aimed
at preparing these young recruits for jobs in oil and gas operations.
Through a partnership with the host government, Oxy Oman also is
helping to fund college scholarships for underprivileged students.
By hiring the majority of the workforce locally, Oxy Oman helps
to ensure that residents in the area benefit from the jobs, compensation
and technical expertise that oil and gas production provides. Oxy,
in turn, benefits from local experience and talent.
