Since 1996, the employee Injury and Illness Incidence Rate (IIR) – the number of recordable injuries and illnesses per 100 workers per year – has been less than 1.0. Oxy’s 2012 employee IIR of 0.33 – the best in company history – is far less than the all-U.S. industry average of 3.5 reported by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
