I had always wondered about the islands off the coast of Long Beach. On a visit to my school’s career center, I learned they were related to my course of study. Needless to say, I was excited to work at Oxy.
 
As an intern, I’ve seen that you have the opportunity to grow within your division – and understand how your work can impact other divisions. For a recent college grad, I think the career possibilities at Oxy are endless. I can honestly say I feel like I’ve been put in a position to succeed, with the right resources and support.
 
As my summer project, I analyzed the potential opportunity to decrease the injection remediation expenditure for Long Beach, with the possibility of sharing the results with other locations that could benefit from the application. It was a great feeling to know we were adding value to the company and that as a team, we made a real contribution. I’m now a Facilities Engineer for the Long Beach asset.
